This is My Story and I'm sticking to it!
During my last 7 years in the US Army I worked for the Nuclear Disarmament Agency in Geneva, Switzerland. I didn't
associate Nuclear Disarmament with the peace movement - I was just there doing an interesting, high level mission.
While on a ski vacation in the 3 Valley Region of France In 2001, an idea was conceived that would forever change my
life. What started out as a "Ski Chair" has since transformed into what we now call the “Peace Chair”. After retirement
from the Army we moved from Geneva, Switzerland back home to Minnesota. My wife, Josie, and I managed Blue Heron
B&B in Ely for nearly 3 years. Blue Heron is one of the most beautiful and magical places on earth. It was there that my
awakening accelerated. I spent many hours on what I called "Inspiration Point" in the BWCAW (Boundary Waters Canoe
Area Wilderness) contemplating life. Why am I here? Who am I? What is my calling? These and many other questions
plagued my very existence. We were living and working in paradise - a dream job we created for ourselves, only to find
it was sabotaging our marriage. Why? That answer continues to reveal its self to me as I share my story and dreams
with you.
My attempt at marketing the Ski Chair in Colorado was just another painful story in my personal and spiritual growth. It
was all a part of the Divine Plan the Universe has in store for me. Since the direction and purpose of the chair has
changed, so has my life. Sitting in the BWCAW isn't what I originally wanted after retirement - but it is exactly what I
needed. I often say these days "Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it"!!!
“What am I to do next?”, is the question I repeatedly asked while meditating in the BWCAW. The answer was soft and
clear, “Assist others in creating a safe and comfortable shelter after the Storm! “What the hell does that mean?”, I
asked. The answer came only day’s later when Mother Nature demonstrated her powerful force with Hurricane Katrina.
My intention was to travel to Louisiana with a non-profit called “Mission From Minnesota” and provide comfort to the
survivors, and create out of the felled trees after the storm, a safe and comfortable Peace Chair shelter. The Universe
had different plans and lessons for me. It was the beginning of my philanthropic passion.
I have since moved on in life, leaving our dream job in Ely behind. I am now working my passion and following my
dream. My vision is that the Peace Chair is an Icon for world Peace - and create incredible stories of awakening with
others like you. To teach you how to "Fill Up Your G.A.S. Tank". You have everything you need within. My passion is to
help you discover this hidden truth by peeling away the layers of your self doubt and insecurities.
I AM an "Inspirational Seeker Speaker". I AM a Peacemaking Chairman for the World. I AM Peace, Love and Inspiration.
