Ashley S. Pickard, LMFT, PMT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
& TRE Certified Provider

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California and Florida. I currently offer in-person and telehealth sessions in Tallahassee FL, as well as offer telehealth sessions anywhere in California.

I intend to provide a safe and non-threatening space to discuss strategies to help you cope with and overcome what feels like insurmountable obstacles. Whether these difficulties are in dealing with relationships, child-rearing, marriage, work, stress, or transitioning life stages, therapy is a valuable tool to help individuals navigate these situations. I specialize in assisting people in finding authentic and long-lasting healing that contributes to an increased quality of life. I take pride in my work and am deeply humbled by those who choose me to help them navigate life’s difficult moments. My work is rooted in following my intuition, trusting the unfolding of life, whatever that looks like, and spiritual connection. My goal in therapy with my clients is to assist them in finding their unique path in this life. Learning to love ourselves just as we are, is a radical thing to do in a society and culture that sends us so many messages that we are “not good enough.”

I graduated from California State University, East Bay, in 2014 with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and have been working as a therapist since 2013. I have worked with a variety of populations before opening a private practice. These include survivors of sexual assault, adult individuals experiencing homelessness, families experiencing conflict, and individual adults working through problems related to communication, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and feelings of helplessness. I also have experience and training in working on PTSD, chronic pain, spirituality, and those struggling with guilt and shame.

I am also a Certified TRE Practitioner (Trauma/Tension Releasing Exercises). This easy-to-learn self-help technique can be used in conjunction with any other therapy as a stress reduction technique. TRE is particularly helpful to survivors of trauma or those who experience overwhelming stress/tension daily. I first began practicing TRE® in 2002, and after experiencing the unique benefits of a dedicated practice, I decided to become a certified provider in June 2017. Since becoming certified, I have been offering my services to my clients within a therapeutic context and to my community at large. If you are interested in TRE, please reach out to me, and I would be happy to discuss this with you.

Lastly, there are many approaches to healing, and one that has been highly beneficial for me is plant medicine. Using plants as a vehicle for healing may not be for everyone, but for those called, I offer my compassionate support and experience in integrating what is revealed to you.
